This Privacy Policy explains how Brain Fam ("Brain Fam," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Brain Fam mobile app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address. We use a one-time code (sent to your email) to verify it — we do not store a password.
• Family profiles. Information you choose to enter about family members, such as a name, avatar, and date of birth. This is provided by you, the account holder, and is used only to personalize quizzes (for example, to match question difficulty to age).
• Activity. Your quiz history, scores, levels, streaks, and progress.
• Purchase information. If you subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
• Technical information. Basic, non-identifying logs (such as request timestamps and error information) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To provide the App and your account, and to sync your family's progress across your devices.
• To personalize quizzes to each family member's age and level.
• To process and restore subscriptions.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• To communicate with you about your account (for example, sign-in codes).

AI-generated quiz content

Brain Fam uses third-party artificial intelligence services (such as OpenAI) to generate quiz questions. To do this, we send non-identifying inputs such as a category, an age range, a difficulty level, and previously seen questions. We do not send your email address or a family member's name to these services.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the App, and only as needed:

• Hosting (our backend and database) — to store your account and progress.
• Email delivery — to send your sign-in codes.
• Apple & RevenueCat — to process and manage subscriptions.
• AI providers — to generate quiz content, as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Children's privacy

Brain Fam is designed to be used by families and is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or adult account holder. Accounts may only be created by someone aged 13 or older. Any information about children (such as a child's first name or date of birth) is entered by the adult account holder and is used solely to personalize the experience within the family's own account. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts or use the App to collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information improperly, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings), which removes your family data from our systems. You can also email us to request deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the UK, EU/EEA, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated in the App.
